The Film School and Event Center project is an exploration in responsive architecture and kinetics fused with sensory design. This architecture rotates with the sun. As the sun travels across the sky, this building rotates by positioning its cantilevered Frame Room in different positions relative to the sun location. This experience is everchanging as it is affected by weather, season, sun position, building position, and even occupant mood. This building rotates between the manmade and natural juxtaposing skylines.
The LightChaser Building rotates to correspond with the sun's location in the sky. This creates a very unique experience for those inside the building, as their perspective is always changing. The building is also designed to have a minimal footprint, to preserve the surrounding site's nature. It acts as a new kind of "bridge" which connects the man-made with the natural.
