I create conceptual projects of environmental system designs to unlock
visionary possibilities for a more joyous, healthy, peaceful, and abundant world.
Maria Lorena Lehman, "one of the leading experts on delivering exceptional occupant experience through smart building design" and recipient of the Harvard University Digital Design Prize for the "most creative use of digital media in relation to the design profession".

My unique process creates design concepts and visualizations that push boundaries and shift paradigms. By creating visionary environmental systems (including interfaces, objects, buildings, and cities) that fuse design-science, design-fiction, and science-fiction, my projects show alternative future realities that inspire audiences through extraordinary experience.

At the core of my creative process is visionary multi-sensory design innovation (MSDI), and my goal is to  innovate possibilities for our future through designed conceptual immersions that inspire, amaze, and delight. It is my hope that by disrupting the status quo with new ideas, frameworks, and potentials, humanity can build an even more desirable future world.

The following projects are design concept immersions made to disrupt the status quo with new ideas.
Be sure to explore these MSDI projects that aim to inspire new architectural innovation.

Through visionary sensory design, I am able to see more deeply into environmental systems. Today’s environmental systems are fragmented, and consequently are fragmenting society. As new technology emerges, it is vital to examine and design its trajectory as it embeds itself ubiquitously into our everyday lives. It is through visionary sensory design that environmental systems (that use such technologies) can be better leveraged, optimized, and innovated to best feed the dynamics of human perception in ways that uplift quality of life into realms of thrivability for all.

The diagram on the left shows how an idea is often grown only to the “status quo” point by leveraging its strengths. Then, it can be pushed a bit further toward its developmental plateau by optimizing its features. However, it is through the process of multi-sensory design innovation that an idea can be used as a catalyst that unfolds upon itself to create new visionary possibilities. This type of idea growth will extend beyond the leading-edge into pioneering realms of design that create alternative and more desirable choices for our future. This is why my focus is on visionary sensory design, that is the linchpin.
